PADI Open Water Diver
Certification Received
PADI Open Water Diver – Recreational scuba diving, with a buddy, to a maximum depth of 18m
Divers under 15 years old received a PADI Junior Open Water Diver certification, which automatically upgrades to an Open Water Certification upon turning 15.
Time Requirements
One day in the pool
Two days on the boat
Theory work at your convenience, via eLearning, usually around 5-10 hours in total
Pre-requisites
Must be at least 10 years old
Must completed a 10-minute swim/float without using any swim aids
Must complete a 200 metre/yard continuous surface swim or a 300 metre/yard swim with mask, fins and snorkel
Location
Boat dives usually take place from Sai Kung on weekends
Pool dives take place at various locations around Hong Kong, depending upon availability
